By Moris Beracha.-
In countries such as Spain, Great Britain and the United States,
Mindfulness is used at schools to help children cope with concentration
and attention problems. The strategy is based on not using it as an
additional subject, but as a practice that is integrated in several
subjects.
According
to RPP, integrating Mindfulness practices into children’s daily,
in-class experience consists of sitting with them to feel their
breathing. Then, they should pay attention to the inner and outer world
sensations experienced in the moment. Also, they should manage to
reinforce positive feelings such as compassion and gratitude.
To
motivate their practice, parents and teachers must incorporate this
discipline into their daily life experiences. This, in addition to
learning to breathe and listen attentively, means not to contradict what
is being pursued.
