Benefits to a healthy lifestyle






There are benefits to maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a combination of eating right, working out and mindfulness. 

Eating healthy means having a balanced diet. This includes consuming foods from all food groups and unhealthy foods in moderation. It is encouraged that people eat food low in sodium, sugar and saturated fats — including beverages. 

When working out, consistency with the amount that one is exercising. It is also important to do workouts that are enjoyable, such as Zumba or spinning.  Working out with a friend can be more motivating. 

Mindfulness is “the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.”
The combination of eating right, working out, and mindfulness not only makes one feel good physically but also mentally. 

Physically, overall health can contribute to the overall quality of your life in a positive way. These three can decrease the risk of diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

One will also physically look better if they eat well, work out and exhibit mindfulness. They will also give one more overall energy. This means getting up in the morning and daily tasks will be much easier because your overall well-being is better. 

Mentally, the combination of these three can also be extremely beneficial. It can reduce anxiety and depression while increasing one’s self-esteem. The increased mental well-being also has the ability to decrease the amount of stress one experiences and improve one’s memory, specifically in the elderly.
Overall, there are many benefits that come with maintaining a healthy lifestyle and it can be done fairly easily. By keeping all of this information in mind, one can live out a healthy life.

Mindfulness buffers the relationship between discrimination and depressive symptoms
